TRANS-EUROPA/BÜRO
installation
9 - 13 September *** 11am - 9pm
Trans-europa/permanent passengers comes from the phantasm of a permanent travelling in the European trains. This utopia talks about the desire to create a "poetic and artistic" mobile structure, which collect permanently signs, sounds, images, feelings, through the european territory, to built a real/dreamed cultural topography of the Europe. The structure tries to answer at the question of the concrete mobility and visibility of european artsists, the concrete point of meeting and connection between artists (free exchange of artist in Europe?). Especially: what does it mean to be a foreign artist in a foreign country, how to live in a foreign town, how to work, how to deal with legality an illegality to find a way to built an artistic work.
Trans-europa/hotel: created provisory in different cities a room to sleep and/or work, but also as an artistic intsllation. Transformed the basic function of any space in a studio, life space and Gallery. Those rooms talk about mixed european details of culture: everyday life, memory, history and languages.
Each room is an installation, but can be rent as hotel's room for one day.
